about me
I'm Mackenzie, goofy, creative, deep and I love to connect. Connection is a huge reason why I love handbalancing, it gives me an avenue to connect to myself and my body daily. I have come to know the upside down world as a big world, full of new perspectives and possibilities. There is something special and playful about finding stillness through standing on my hands, its a moment of peace and connection thats hard to explain without experiencing it yourself. My passion lies in guiding others to this place of connection and peace, in understanding themselves better and in a more meaningful way.
My inversion journey began over 25 years ago as a little wild child doing cartwheels and handstands and briefly competing in gymnastics for two years. I have always been an active person, playing sports and learning about the world through my body and movement. Around four years ago I came to a place in my life where I needed some grounding and stillness, this is where my handbalancing journey truly began. I started teaching handstands one year into my own journey and found that guiding others brings me joy and fulfillment. Handbalancing and movement has become a journey of reconnecting to myself and to my body in ways that I could not have imagined.
Why 'Inverted Fox'?
The totem of the fox brings with it playfulness, creativity and cleaverness, all things required in learning handstands and inversions. The fox reminds us that with every problem there is a solution, and just like handbalancing, you are always reestablishing balance and finding cleaver techniques and drills to help navigate the inverted world.
